Needless to say, I can definitely see why my mother fell for his charming wiles years ago despite the age gap. One could say that this inclination to be a tad too kind at times was his Achilles Heel. I’m not sure whether he let us be because he didn’t want to be the bad guy in front of his children or because he simply loved us too much to the point where he’d just rather spoil us. I’d like to think it was the latter.
